MEGA (Montreal’s Expo Gaming Arcade) is the video game event to watch out for. The second edition will be held from November 9th through 11th, 2018 at Marché Bonsecours. Gaming enthusiasts often love the scores that accompany the games. With such elaborate orchestral arrangements, music in the gaming industry has come along way. The night before the expo, gamers should flock to the presentation by the Montreal Orchestra Company. L’Odyssée musicale du jeu vidéo is a symphonic spectacular featuring music from games created in Montreal and beyond.

Under the direction of Adam Johnson, the orchestra features about 60 musicians and vocalists. They will perform pieces from Assassin’s Creed, God of War, Final Fantasy XV, The Legend of Zelda, the world premiere of Eidos Montreal’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and more. Composer Paul Dubreuil’s piece There’s No Falling Back will also make its first appearance after winning the composition contest En Route vers l’Odyssée, which was held by La Guilde des développeurs de jeux vidéo indépendants du Québec in collaboration with Loto-Québec.

The performance will be accompanied by special large screen projections, and those who arrive early can take part in a pre-concert encounter with various game developers who will be in attendance.

A classical blitz of video game music from Montreal and beyond.
